PS3 to Start Streaming Netflix

But there’s a catch!

163027-netflix_ps3_originalHave a PlayStation 3 but not an X Box 360 or streaming, but want to use Netflix’s instant queue? Your worries are over! Sony has finally worked things out with Netflix and has decided to start offering up the online rental service’s instant streaming application.

Unlike the X Box 360, where you just go into the Netflix box and set things up via the console and Netflix website on your computer, you will need a disc to watch Netflix on your PS3. Other than that irritating fact, the application works practically the same way it does on the X Box.  You browse through the categorized selections, add them to your list either from the console or the website, and you can view them in your instant queue.

Sony is hoping to launch this service next month, but PS3 owners can go ahead and pre-order their Netflix discs here!

If you have both the PS3 and the X Box 360, I suggest using Netflix on the X Box. The PS3 is an awesome Blu Ray player, but as far as instant streaming goes, you don’t need a disc to use Netflix on the X Box.
