Great Scott! Intrada Records is releasing a 2-disc set of Alan Silvestri’s classic score for 1985’s Back to the Future. Up until now, the score has gone unreleased (officially), other than the overture and main theme tracks on the soundtrack and some cues re-recorded by John Debney for his Back to the Future Trilogy cd.

The first disc is the original score in its entirety, while the second disc is chock full of alternate cues that have “a more serious, and darker tone” than what actually made it into the film.

While this is a limited release, Intrada’s agreement with Universal allows them to exceed 3000 units. As stated by them, “there should be more than enough to go around!” Whoah, this is heavy!

If I were you, I’d order it now just in case!
