According to a recent New York Times article, George Lucas has claimed that he’ll be retiring from the movie business. The statement appeared in the article after Lucas had expressed frustration with Red Tails: a new biopic about the Tuskegee Airmen that couldn’t bait Hollywood studio executives. Apparently, Lucas had to fund the film all by himself, which must have been a major burden for the billionaire who owns the STAR WARS franchise, produced the INDIANA JONES films, and also produced HOWARD THE DUCK.
If he is serious, fans shouldn’t worry–he’ll now have plenty of time to think of ways to revamp STAR WARS (again)!
