The Daddy of all disaster movies hits Blu-ray this month! – The Towering Inferno, the classic seventies all-star epic starring Steve McQueen and Paul Newman (or is it Paul Newman and Steve McQueen?!).
The Fox Home Entertainment disc was released on 14th July in the US and retails at around $34.98. The feature is presented in widescreen, along with English 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio and 4.0 Dolby Surround soundtracks.
Extras include:
audio commentary by F.X. Feeney-Film Historian,
Scene Specific Commentary by Mike Vezina, Special Director on X3,
Scene Specific Commentary by Branko Racki, Stunt Coordinator on The Day After Tomorrow,
32 Extended and Deleted Scenes,
an Alternate Opening Sequence,
multiple featurettes,
an Irwin Allen 1977 Interview,
storyboard comparisons,
galleries,
trailers and more.
All in all sounding pretty much like the previous (2006) DVD release. Which just begs one question….where the hell is The Poseidon Adventure?!!!!
