Cinemagic Pays Weeklong Tribute to Jerry Goldsmith


Jerry_GoldsmithFive years ago today, the film community lost a beloved composer. Jerry Goldsmith is responsible for a countless number of iconic and memorable film scores, including Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, Planet of the Apes,  Logan’s Run, and Poltergeist among others.

This week, XM station Cinemagic (channel 76) is honoring the legendary musician by re-running a week long tribute that previously ran in February.  For the first few days, only segments of 6 to 8 hours starting at 12 pm EST, but this Saturday (July 25th), a non-stop marathon will commence starting at midnight  and last through Sunday.

For those who don’t have XM Radio, you can still tune in with Direct TV on channel 822. Here’s the schedule:

July 21 – Science Fiction and Fantasy – Westerns (7 hours)

July 22 – Horror – Mystery and Thrillers (6 hours)
