The teaser trailer for the upcoming remake of the 1981 fantasy film Clash of the Titans has been revealed. It stars Avatar‘s Sam Worthington as Perseus, who is on a quest to save Princess Andromeda. Liam Neeson has taken over the role of Zeus, who was previously played by Laurence Olivier.
The action-oriented trailer shows very little of the story, but gives us glimpses at the fantasy-based adventures that happens in the film, including a brief look at Medussa.
To me, it looks like Legendary Pictures is looking to re-capture the success that 300 had and therefore is basing both the style of the film and the advertising campaign after what they did with that film. Personally, I never really understood 300‘s popularity. I liked it the first time I watched it, but was bored to death the second time. It was definitely a move that was only worth seeing once. All I take from it is loud music and half naked men shouting things before beating each other up. I just hope they don’t reduce Clash of the Titans reduced to a wrestling match!
