Planet of the Apes fans and Jerry Goldsmith fans alike will most likely be thrilled with the October 12th release of the complete score for 1971′s Escape From the Planet of the Apes.
The only Apes score to have not received a commercial release, Escape‘s score was only previously available (officially) as a bonus 16-minute overture track at the tip end of the Planet of the Apes album.
The release is part of a four title lineup from Varese Sarabande that also includes Elmer Bernstein’s A Walk in the Spring Rain, Frank Waxman’s Crime in the Streets, and Jonathan Elias’ Children of the Corn.
The release is limited to only 3000 copies. So if I were you, I’d hurry up and get this sucker pre-ordered!
