Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is setting new records at the box office after its opening weekend in the US saw it take $22 Million dollars.
This beats previous record breakers such as The Dark Knight ($18M), Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith ($17M) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($16M) by quite a margin. The previous Harry Potter movie, Order of the Phoenix took $12 Million and went on to gross $140 Million in its first five days.
If the current trend continues, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince could end up with the record of the biggest opening weekend of all time.
