Many of us have wondered why Nathan Fillion isn’t a box office megastar yets and it seems Warner Bros are wondering the same thing. A brand new Superman adventure is gearing up at Warners. Apparently it’s not a reboot, or a sequel, it’s just a plain straightforward adventure with the Man Of Steel. Written and produced by Christopher Nolan and David. S Goyer (the same creative team behind the really rather wonderful Batman Begins and The Dark Knight) and rumoured to be the directorial debut of Jonathan Nolan (Christopher Nolan’s screenwriter brother) the new adventure is due out in 2012.
And apparently, Nathan Fillion, star of the hugely succesful TV detective show Castle (and adored by fans the world over for playing Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly and Serenity) is the man they think is right for the job! Whilst we’ll all be sad to see the back of the wonderful Brandon Routh, who was excellent in Superman Returns, the potential casting of someone like Fillion would more than make up for it.
Fillion has the right looks, the acting talent, and more importantly the humour to carry this one off. My only worry, is at 39 – he might be a little old for the part. But that’s the only con on a hell of a long list of pros!

Please remember this in only a rumour at this point… but boy- wouldn’t we love it to be true?
