On the heals of the San Diego Comic Con, a new trailer for Tron Legacy has been released! It sets up the story a bit better than the previous teaser, while showing us incredible new footage. We get a good look at the “young ” Flynn, which isn’t nearly as creepy as the previous digital rejuvenation work on X-Men: The Last Stand.
The original Tron is a guilty pleasure of mine, but it is terribly flawed. The bright neon colors mixed in with the pale, almost black & white live action footage is eye straining at times, and the film itself hasn’t aged very well. Almost 30 years later, the effects have improved to the extent where the world of Tron could look almost photo real, but the question is, can they use it to tell a compelling story? We’ll find out in December!
