New Twilight Zone Movie Gets a Writer

Ravich will open this door with the key of imagination!

rod-serlingRand Ravich has been tagged as the writer for the new Warner Bros. adaption of the acclaimed television series, The Twlight Zone. The project is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way. Ravich’s past credits include Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, The Astronaut’s Wife, and most recently, the television series Life.

This, of course, marks the second time the series has made it to the big screen. In 1983, Warner Bros. and Steven Spielberg hit us with Twilight Zone: The Movie, an anthology film with four segments, directed by Spielberg, John Landis, Joe Dante, and George Miller, respectively. The film not only was subject to mixed reviews, but earned controversy after a heartbreaking helicopter accident claimed the lives of actor Vic Morrow and two child actors during filming of the John Landis segment.

The original series premiered in 1959 and lasted until 1964 and provided one twisted and edgy story after another. It was revived twice, once in 1985 and again in 2002. To this day, The Twilight Zone is considered a milestone in television history
