According to an interview featured at iFMagazine.com, Nicholas Hooper, composer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, reportedly stated that he will not be scoring the final film of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
I have made the decision not to do the next two Harry Potter films. I’ll be handing the baton on to another composer. It has been a roller coaster ride, and, I feel, an enormous privilege to have the opportunity to have scored such great films and such a fantastic story.
This allows for more speculation regarding John Williams’ future and final involvement in the series. Oscar-winning composer John Williams stated that he’d like to compose a score for the final Potter film during a lecture at The Berkshire Museum last year.
