“Jurassic Park” fans will no doubt remember Joseph Mazzello as the adorable little dinosaur expert Tim Murphy from Steven Spielberg’s 1993 summer blockbuster, but next year a more mature Mazzello will be appearing as U.S. marine Eugene Sledge in the HBO miniseries “The Pacific”, which is produced by Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.
Based on the memoirs by the real-life Sledge and Robert Leckie, the aptly titled “The Pacific” will follow the exploits of the two authors as marines in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II.
Recently, HBO released a second trailer for “The Pacific” and, as expected, it looks like it’ll make for a very nice counterpart to 2001s Spielberg/Hanks/Goetzman-produced 10-part Emmy award-winning HBO miniseries, “Band of Brothers.”
“The Pacific” is scheduled to premiere sometime in March 2010 and also stars Jon Seda, James Badge Dale, William Sadler, and Isabel Lucas.
